Barbara Ployer and Franz Jakob Freystädtler's theory and composition studys with Mozart

Counterpoint plays a rather subordinate role in music of the Classical era. However, Mozart composed—in addition to the canons (see work group 10)—some individual contrapuntal pieces throughout his life. A considerable number of these remained unfinished and were never intended for performance but were presumably written for study and teaching purposes (see Anhang H).
