Mozart composed a small number of works for more than one solo instrument and orchestra. Depending on the local traditions of the places where they were written, these works were titled *Concertone* (i.e., large concerto), *Sinfonia Concertante*, *Symphonie Concertante*, or simply *Concerto*. Among the fragments is the first movement of a concerto for piano, violin, and orchestra, K. 315f, which Mozart began in Mannheim in November 1778 on his way back to Salzburg.
