Counterpoint played a relatively minor role in Classical-era music. However, throughout his life, Mozart composed individual contrapuntal works—in addition to his canons (see Work Group 10). A considerable portion of these remained unfinished and were likely never intended for performance, but rather served educational or study purposes (see Appendix H).
