"O supremum coeli Numen" Offertory in C
sorted in:
The offertory in C “O supremum coeli Numen”, KV 654 has been preserved in a manuscript copy that was used since 1771 in Wels. The composition is attributed to “Wolfgang Mozart”. Mozart’s authorship seems possible although the composition has an unusual vaudeville-like structure with episodes of the alto soloist. The form of the author’s name as well as the style of the composition suggest a genesis before the first Italian journey, which began on December 13, 1769.
