Sonata in D for clavier and violin
sorted in:
The Sonata in D for Clavier and Violin, KV 630 has been preserved in a London print as A favorite sonata for the forte piano or harpsichord, with an accompaniment for a violin. Composed by W. A. Mozart. Although this print cannot securely be dated, it must stem from Mozart’s lifetime. The two-movement sonata is of the same type as the authentic accompanied keyboard sonatas KV 6–9 and may well have originated in England during the grand tour of Western Euorpe in 1764 or 1765. Due to the unfortunate source situation, Mozart’s authorship seems likely but cannot be proven.
