Molto Allegro in G
sorted in:
The concerto movement Molto Allegro in G, KV 636 is the most demanding of all compositions in the music book of Mozart’s sister Maria Anna. The composition was entered there by Leopold Mozart. The manuscript contains several corrections and has the appearance of a composing score, but Leopold Mozart can be excluded as the author of the piece. In the context of the music book, it seems very likely that it stems from Wolfgang, who had it transcribed by his father. KV 636 is a fragment; it consists of the soloist’s part only, while the orchestral accompaniment is not extant. It remains unknown whether it was ever notated elsewhere. For several reasons, KV 636 cannot be identical with the lost Concerto movement, KV 627.
