"Oragna figata fa marina gamina fa“ Song for 1 or 2 voices
sorted in:
The song “Oragna figata fa marina gamina fa”, KV 637 originated during the grand tour of Western Europe. Mozart’s sister Maria Anna reports that Wolfgang invented music and text in a fantasized language. Wolfgang and Leopold are said to have sung this song every night as a duet, a routine that only ended when Mozart was ten years old. The song is a fragment since the second voice and most of the text have not been preserved. Although the fragment was published in Georg Nissen’s Biographie W. A. Mozart’s, the composition escaped Ludwig Ritter von Köchel’s attention and was only mentioned in passing in KV6.
