Symphonies
sorted in:
In Leopold Mozart’s list of the works that his son Wolfgang composed between the ages of 7 to 12, “13 Symphonies” for 2 oboes, 2 horns and strings are mentioned. Only eight symphonies can now be attributed to this period with certainty (KV 16, KV 19, KV 19a, KV 19b [lost], KV 22, KV 43, KV 45, KV 45a); authenticity and composition dates of several other works (KV 45b, KV 66c–e, KV 74g) cannot be ascertained. It seems likely, therefore, that some of Mozart’s early symphonies, such as the Arias, KV 631, may not have been preserved.
